My last two essays were very focused on informing readers on what climate change is and how vital is that we act now. My intended audience for this was those that do not take the issue seriously and my goal was to be sure to let them know what is to come and who would be affected if no actions are carried out.

My intended audience for my next essay I think I will overall keep the same but this time I think that I will try to more appeal to a younger audience with the age range of 15-25 as this is my generation and the one that will be able to enact change if we worked together. I want the readers to feel motivated.

I think the genre that would be the easiest and most accessible would be an informative article in a list format with headings so that the reader could find maybe an exact point that they were looking for, or get a general idea of what it is about from a quick glance.

I will try to encompass pathos, logos, and ethos. The way that I will do this is by using facts and information for Lagos, then try to use examples of who is is affected to maybe try to pull at the emotions for pathos, and finally ask the reader what would they do to try and call their ethics into play for ethos.

In my last two essays I’ve written about the importance of mental health in different ways. In my first essay I wrote about the struggles that men face through lifetime experiences of being told that in order to be a man you cannot display emotion and in my second I wrote about how social media destroys the mental health of our current generation, gen z. My audiences were different for both essays, in my third my intended audience will follow the same one as the second. That audience being students or teenagers who are victims of bullying and/or cyberbullying as well as students or teenagers that consume harmful things on social media that causes them to struggle mentally. I want my audience to feel as though they are not alone and they are all beautiful and unique in their own way and social media should not define their worth. I think meaning that my audience consists of younger people mostly 13-18 reading isn’t likely something they would be very interested in doing. I believe that videos or photos would help me get my point across well and it would be well received by my audience.

I also believe that the best way to get to my audience would be through using the rhetorical strategies of pathos and logos. This is because through emotion you can fully feel and understand the point of my argument and you could relate it to your own life to further your understanding. Using logos to appeal to logic and reason would help because of the fact that when I’m speaking about what the cons of social media are logical thinking and reasoning would help my audience understand what they can do to combat the cons of social media or even help others who are dealing with the same issues.

The fight about abortion still continues and is even more complicated today with teen pregnancies skyrocketing. Many teenage girls are peer pressured into having sexual intercourse with their boyfriend, or just in general by their friends. These persuasions lead them to teen pregnancy and also dropping out. I would like my essay to be pro-choice because everyone deserves a second chance even after making a mistake. I believe there should always be a choice for teenage girls. My intended audience is young adults, advocates, and people who are pro-life. What I would like to accomplish by writing this essay is I want them to understand it is a woman’s choice if she wants to keep the unborn child, because she will be the one carrying it, supporting it, and will face the emotional distress. The genres that I will be using are political cartoons and memes, my reasoning is because political cartoons are used in schools for students to learn and many young women and men should learn about abortions because they could possibly need them as an option in the future. Memes would make this very intense subject easier to discuss. The rhetorical strategies that I will engage with my audience are ethos and logos. I will be using ethos to persuade my audience by talking about how more children will be put into orphanages because their parents do not want them and many children will feel unwanted by their parents. The way I will be using logos is by explaining that the mother is carrying the unborn child and will use over-the-counter drugs to kill the fetus. 

My last essay was about the difficulties and factors that go into mental health and how they have impacted Generation Z. And so my intended audience is parents and also Generation Z so that they know information on how to deal with their mental health and for parents to look out for their children because it is possible for them to suffer mentally as well. The audience is from ages 13-60. I want to be able to target the people that are just learning to be a part of society and the people that have already been part of society but need to be educated more.

I think the use of poetry and political cartoons would attract my audience. The older audience would probably be more attracted to politics so if they see cartoons that convey a message they are more likely to question it which leads to a conversation being able to happen and I would like to use a comparative cartoon where it compares the cartoon from the past where people who were suffering mentally were sent to the asylum and then to a cartoon that shows people promoting mental health. I would do this with the use of logos since older people respond to logic showing the change in perspective can hopefully help them change their minds. And for generation Z since we are very into memes a political cartoon would be something that captures the mind and would push people to get help. Poetry can also be used since ethos is to appeal to people’s emotions and poetry does that best. I would pick it from a poet that is a part of Generation Z so that people can get the ideas straight from the source.

My previous two essays focused on police brutality and its impact on minority groups. For this assignment, I will continue highlighting this issue by emphasizing its societal presence as well as demonstrating a need for change.

My intended audience for this assignment is young adults within the age group of 15-30 and lawmakers in Congress. I am targeting this specific age group because they are most likely to take physical action to implement change, such as participating in protests and spreading the message virtually. However, while this age group are likely to advocate for change, the lawmakers are where the fate of that change lies, and it is therefore pertinent to target them as an audience and persuade them to utilize their power.

I am planning on incorporating the genres of a social media post and a billboard into this assignment. I feel that a social media post is the best way to reach an age group that spends up to multiple hours using social media on a daily basis. I have also noticed a pattern of various social movements, such as the Black Lives Matter movement, gaining much of their traction through social media platforms due to their accessibility and their nature of allowing messages to be spread easily on a large scale. Additionally, a billboard shares many of these same attributes and will allow for the core of the issue to be visually displayed and understood. It will also reach a larger portion of the public even beyond social media users, including lawmakers.

I plan on including a rhetorical question in my social media post in order to emphasize the absurdity of police brutality and enhance engagement with the audience by making the piece seem more like a conversation rather than a tangential post. I will also draw on pathos using the billboard because it cannot be wordy, and I will therefore likely find success in appealing to the audience’s emotions through visual elements.

In order to write an effective essay you first need to figure out who your audience is. Your target audience determines your tone, your rhetoric and even the overall structure of your essay. In addition, this helps the writer to know what type of information is needed as well as detail. The targeted audience should automatically know and understand if they’re part of it.

In my previous essay I talked about immigration policies in both the United States and the European and its social consequences in the respective countries. My targeted audience was mostly students my age as well as anybody who wasn’t aware of the many policies and differences that the European Union has with the United States. My essay had a very general topic that everyone could have an understanding and opinion on. 

In addition, I believe that the usage of interviews to people from all age groups  about legal immigration and illegal immigration will help to better understand the European and American perspective. This will also help to see the drastic differences in opinion across ages. Moreover, the rhetorical strategy that I would implement into my essay would be a mix of Pathos and Ethos. I want my audience to feel connected to my paper as well as make them think about their own opinion. However, I also want to show logic and reasoning behind the data that I use in my paper which will balance out the emotional connection. I want to really get into my audience’s head and basically show how other countries or systems organize themselves and put into place laws and policies. 

The intended audience is the younger generation going into adulthood because they are the people that can make the most difference in the subject. Ages 18-35 is the intended audience they are knowledgeable enough to understand and also legally allowed to speak up and share this or their stories on the subject. The characteristic mostly needed in this audience is people striving to make a stand, raise awareness, and most likely more brave individuals. I want my audience to understand the statistics yet also see the emotion of the subject. I want the essay to make the audience want to take action after they’ve read it. The genre I will be using is journals/ letters and statistics/ facts. So the audience can see both the emotion and the realism behind the stories. I think that these two genres will make the ideas more appealing and accessible to the audience. I will most likely be using pathos and logos to attract the audience by using journals/ letters as the pathos and the statistics/facts as logos.

When it comes to writing a solid essay, your target audience can play a key role. Target audiences can determine how complex or simple the paper is. Knowing who your target audience is can help writers to make decisions about what information they should include, how they should arrange that information, and what kind of supporting details will be necessary for the reader to understand what they are presenting.

In my last two essays, I discussed the topics of gender inequality and how it affects girls at a young age and women’s mental health but specifically the mental health of women who have the responsibilities of having a job and raising a family. The target audience for both of these papers was women between the ages of 13-25 mainly because they are the new generation, the generation that can cause a change to happen. I wanted my audience to be moved by my paper. I wanted them to be motivated to go out and break the constant chain that occurs when it comes to gender inequality. Because of this, I believed that visual aids like photographs and art pieces would help make my ideas more attractive to my audience. I think different artworks can really allow my audience to have a stronger reaction emotionally rather than my long, excessive paper. I also believe that poetry would also be a great aid for my thoughts. The rhetorical strategy that I think would work in my favor would be pathos mainly because I want my audience to have a strong emotional connection to my paper.

The author usually will aim for an audience to relate to his/her writing to grab a person’s attention. In my previous writing, I discussed how social media sites can have a large impact on an adolescent’s mental health. I plan to continue this topic for my third essay and directly target adolescents. More specifically, adolescents who are struggling to know what qualifies them as a person who is addicted to social media. I hope when they read my composition, they understand the dangers of social media and the mental consequences that come with it. I want the reader to feel some sort of realization of the issue on whether they are truly addicted themselves. Lastly, I hope they commit to limiting their time on social media to prevent these issues from happening after reading my composition. I will create this message by sharing a meme of someone struggling with social media addiction and also an artistic picture/image of the issue showing a solution. I want this essay to be more visual this time to make it look more appealing to other readers, instead of just spewing statistics and graphs. However, I still do plan to provide logical reasons on how bad social media addiction can be for their mental health by providing facts from scholarly resources. I also plan to share some emotion to the issue by sharing some of my personal issues with social media addiction so that there is some sort of connection between the writer and the reader.

During the start of the writing process every writer must identify the audience that his work will reach; not only would this increase sales and have his work spread further towards other persons but additionally be much more comprehend-able. In both of my previous written tasks my thesis topic stayed relatively the same, something to do with immigration and either the positive or a negative stance on its effects towards the host nation and its people; primarily writing to influence an average blue collar working American.

For my next task I plan on continuing the same intended audience as well, due to my families’ and communities’ closeness to this group, but additionally, possibly, also widen my audience to include the white-collar working class. I feel as if attempting to include another audience would show my neutrality on the topic and be taken as more of uniting piece without a bias of supporting or demoting one side. I feel as if using a genre of narrative writing as well as Expository writing would not only present facts on which my essay will stand for, but the use of narrative writing would create an emotional pull-on reader to use empathy, which they can imagine and react to how certain effects or causes of immigration can make one feel. I believe my essay would use all three rhetorical strategies, first to build my credibility I would use logos and to subtlety influence the readers stance on the composition I would employ the use of pathos. I must make sure that I don’t damage my credibility by choosing a stance to be successful in my writing.
