Class introduction

Jaline McCallum
Intended major: Psychology
Pronouns: She/her

After reviewing the syllabus, one thing I am excited about is improving my writing. I wasn’t very good in high school, so I hope to get better. One thing I’m anxious about is getting stressed out over the assignments. I think the qualities of a good writer are that the person reading the writer’s piece can understand and easily articulate what is being said. The easiest part of writings is that I can write down what comes to my head quickly. The hardest part for me is getting down what I think makes sense on paper and makes sense to the reader. For my major, which is psychology, the type of genre I would be writing is most likely psychological fiction. This type of genre allows readers to go more in-depth in the person’s mind. Becoming an effective writer will give me more opportunities in the future because I will become a more credible person.

Hi Jaline! I am also super anxious about getting stressed out due to the assignments. I tend to leave things for last minute majority of the time but since this is college now I can't really do that now. Time management has never been a strong suit of mine.

Hey Jaline! I also find it hard to make my writing make sense to the reader and 100% agree with your idea of qualities of good writing. I think being able to articulate your main idea to the reader is a skill that everyone should have in order to make their writing make sense.

Hi Jaline, I definitely agree with you and Vianny with the fact that I am anxious about the due date for the assignments. My biggest issue in school is procrastination so I always put myself in situations where I am combating the due date.
