Class Introduction

My name is Richelle Placencia; my intended major is psychology. My preferred pronoun is They/She.

After reviewing the syllabus, I’m excited about this course because I feel as though I have a sense of what I expected to do. I feel like my AP Courses helped me work on the 8-12 page works. I am anxious about getting everything in on time, having to remember to check if I have any assignments, and learning how to navigate the website on time.

Some qualities of good writing are organization and strain of thought. Good writing needs a planned-out version of a text from beginning, middle, and end. To be a good writer, one must know how to activate an audience with just the words and have a reader understand what you mean and understand your view even if they disagree. Writing well will allow people to communicate in a sense where everyone can understand and be convincing enough to make people understand you differently.

The easiest part of writing would be going along with the flow of ideas. Once my mind has an idea, it continues to grow, which allows me to get lost in my writing and include a more precise understanding to support my points. Something to work on would be rereading my text. I tend to finish and not go back and make sure everything makes sense to everyone and not just to me at that moment.

I will be required to write essays explaining vocabulary words and applying them to real-life situations for my intended major. By being an influential writer, I can have a different way of viewing things and paint the picture.
