The topic I decided to choose is Mass incarnation on marijuana . I chose this topic because I believe it’s not spoken as much as it should be.Those imprisoned face extremely lengthy prison sentences, particularly African Americans as it pertains to marijuana possession. The thesis is “Mass incarceration impacts the community by having the children being raised by one parent.”How mass incarceration impacts the community ? The following is the timeframe for this project: by 10/19, I will have organized my research proposal, ensuring that my research topic is clear and complicated, and that I have a thesis that supports the objective of my writing. By 10/22, I’ll have a few additional sources, including scholarly papers as well as normal magazine or newspaper pieces, to back up my research topic with rhetorical aspects.By having a model essay to follow, I will be able to organize my research ideas in a professional manner to meet my topic and thesis. By 10/25 I am planning on having a detailed outline of my draft in terms of following a model essay which help me to develop my research question answers in the text, and lastly by 10/27-29 have a finish draft written and revised following the outline I wrote .A description of my audience for this research paper will be the black community because they will be able to see how injustice the system is towards black people. This will assist me in focusing on my researching goal and formulating a strong, complicated research topic. The model is essay is called We must reform marijuana laws . Topic Reflection

Nativism and xenophobia are two societal issues that I’m interested in. The terms nativism and xenophobia relate to the preference for native-born individuals in a community and the dread of foreigners or “others” who are seen as outsiders due to their race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion. This societal issue piqued my interest since it was something I had never heard of before, and as I went through the articles, I discovered that no one had brought it up. I’m curious as to how this became a public issue and what exactly the people were afraid about. I’d want to throw some light on this subject because I don’t think it’s something that’s commonly discussed. This is a very different subject matter from the usual hot button issues like global warming, racism, gender equality, and abortion. I’d like to know more about why nativists thought that Mainlanders were lowballing native-born labor in the United States, leading to hostility and restrictive laws. This is an important subject that must be addressed. These anxieties typically stem from cultural differences, and they have been there since the 1800s and well into the 1900s, when similar attacks were launched against immigrants from Arab and/or Muslim nations. I’d want to go more into the reasons behind the rivalry for employment and the resulting prejudice. Who benefits from anti-immigrant sentiment when it targets newcomers to a country as well as anyone (regardless of nationality or immigration status) who is seen as an outsider due to physical characteristics/appearance or cultural distinctiveness?

Rhetorical Analysis

  • Women’s Empowerment in the Indian Community is the topic I’m tackling. In our society, certain males prefer to believe that women should be at home caring for their children and the house. Article on Women Empowerment: Issues and Challenges by Murthy S is what I’ve decided to utilize. As an Indian, Srinivasa Murthy is a trustworthy source since he performed his study, and he obtained more material from both male and female authors.
  • Women in India confront difficulties like as sexual harassment, underage marriage, and Dowry and Bride burning, which the author addresses. Bullet points are used to describe each of the difficulties women in India face.
  • Specifically in India, this essay aims to shed attention on the struggles women face on a daily basis. The essay is aimed at everyone, especially those who are interested in understanding more about women’s employment and the challenges that women face in India. As the author explains, he wrote this post to help promote women’s rights, growth, and empowerment.
  • In the article’s goals and objectives, the author argues that women deserve equal rights. Considering that this is a research paper, the genre of the article would be expository writing. It shed light on what women empowerment is and the challenges women encounter.
  • It is believed by the author that strengthening the regulatory frameworks will help eliminate all forms of gender discrimination. With the involvement of both genders in altering cultural attitudes and community actions.

Mini Assignment

  • Learning how to write for diverse reasons and audiences, and improving my writing abilities in particular with essays, is something I am looking forward to after studying the syllabus. In addition, I’m apprehensive about completing the essays because I tend to get lost in my introductions and wind up repeating what I write .
  • Qualities of good writing would include precise and correct verbiage, well-crafted statements that can be explained and a strong tale that can be told. Writers should be disciplined, able to identify where they went wrong and fix it no matter how many times they have to do it, creative and open to new ideas including criticism, and patient. You become a better communicator by being able to write well. It also helps us visualize and organize our thoughts, and gives us an edge in the workplace.
  • The easier part of writing would have to be the mini summaries along with the body paragraphs and conclusions.
  • The hardest part would be finding the right evidence to match what you were saying along with doing the introduction
  •  The genres I will expect to write in my major are emails, reports, meeting agendas, inventory tracks and responses to customer complaint letters.
