Gun violence is a very serious issue that has been going on for decades and over the years it just keeps getting worse. In my previous essay, I talked about gun violence and how we could stop it and, in this essay, I plan to continue that. My intended audience for this essay is state agencies and the federal statutes because they are in control of guns. My audience for my last essay was American citizens but, in this essay, I’ll focus on how I can use my two genres which are pictures/images and videos to make the audience understand that we need to stop gun violence.  This essay will be more of a visual essay that’s why I think using pictures and videos will help me achieve this along with using scholarly sources but I will still use logical reasoning as well to support this. The primary characteristic of my audience is they make guns and control gun laws. I want my audience to understand that we should be doing more to stop gun violence especially if we have the power. Using pictures and videos to persuade my audience is effective because pictures and videos have more meaning and power compared to when it’s just words. The rhetorical strategy I plan to use is ethos and pathos because I’ll make it so the audience feels like they can trust me and also appeal to emotions to make my audience feel sympathy about gun violence.
