My name is Abdulai Bah, my intended major is psychology but now I’m not sure. My preferred pronoun is He.

After reviewing the syllabus one thing I’m excited about in this course is that we get to chose what we want to write about and this course will make me become a better writer. One thing I am anxious about is writing so many pages on the essays, writing 8-12 pages isn’t exactly something I’m used to.

Qualities of good writing are structure, focus, and coherence, these are important because you want your writing to be specific and you want it to make sense. I think being a good writer means knowing how to focus on what exactly you’re talking about and not going off-topic and also clarity because you want things to be simple and clear for the person that’s going to read it. It’s important to know how to write because almost everything we do includes writing and writing is another way of communication so it’s important to know how to write well.

For me, the easiest part of writing is the introduction even though sometimes the introduction can be the hardest part, the hardest part of writing is sticking to the point and not going off-topic. Being an effective writer can affect your career opportunities in a positive way because you can get better opportunities.

At the moment for my major, I am undecided I chose psychology as my major but I’m sure now that that’s not what I want to major in, so I’m just keeping my options open in terms of majors.
